Life Lesson: What they say at Disney World
“Have a magical day!”
Last week I visited the famous Walt Disney World Resort. To be honest, I wanted to take my kids, but I wasn't sure that *I* wanted to go.
But in a few short days, Disney converted me. It was FUN. It was magical.
It was insightful, too.
One example:
The number of "cast members" who greeted our family with, "HAVE A MAGICAL DAY!" was astounding.
The consistency and sincerity was so. baked. in. that I've found myself wishing people a "magical" day back here in New Jersey for the past 2 days.
It got me thinking...
(1) Disney wishes you magic.
What kind of day would YOU wish for others?
"Have a _______ day!"
(2) What would it be like to speak this in the way you sign off your Zoom calls, sign your emails, thank the coffee shop before you head out the door, etc.?
(3) What would it be like to say it with sincerity - like you really mean it - every time?
My takeaway? What we say and how we say it, matters.
